A bootable USB beta testing begins ...

This new version of A bootable USB sets new standards.
Works on Windows® 2000 and later. Although all the tests that have been made,it would be nice to report if it is working or not on your system.

Requirements are:

  • An USB Drive ( capacity depends on source size )
  • Any Windows® from 2000 and later as the host OS ( host OS = OS that you will be running the application)
  • Windows® Vista, Windows® 7, Windows® 2008,Windows® 2008R2 ( x86 or x64)

That's for all now.
Download it here:

Please for those who get into trouble should provide some infos until these get fixed.
  1. You use a folder or ISO
  2. Windows you are running it on ( x86 or x64, if you don't know don't worry)
  3. USB drive ( capacity and filesystem )
  4. and the last one but not related is antivirus or security software you are using ( for compatibility )
Thank you all for your patience.

I have a My Passport essential 1 TB drive plugged into my laptop. ABUSB says there is no USB drive attached. Does the drive need to be formatted in a particular manner?

    OK, here is my information:
    1. Source was an ISO image.
    2. Windows 7 x86
    3. I tried FAT 32 and NTFS, This is on a 1TB My esentials Passport
    4. Mircrosoft Forefront.

The software does not recognize the USB drive. I have two flash drives as well. It recongizes one of them but not the other. The difference is that the recognized one is listed as a removeable drive, while the ones that are not recognized are listed as a regular hard drive.

My understanding is that the controller determines if the drive is removeable or not.

It would be nice is the software had an "advanced" view that would just list all the disk partitions available and let you select where you want to put it.

Micrsoft has a similar utility and it does the same thing as this software. It only recognizes USB drives that are removable.
